Dennis Ross, Clinton’s pro-Israeli peace envoy to Israel, recently criticized Palestinian leader Abu Mazen for failing “to produce much on employment or freedom of movement.” What about military occupation does this simulacrum not understand? I am no fan of Abu Mazen, but it is completely moronic to blame him for Israel’s checkpoints, roadblocks, and closures. Ross has made a career of deflecting Israeli accountability on to the Palestinians.
The same Washington Times article that quoted Dennis “Israel’s tool” Ross quoted a “senior Western diplomat in Washington familiar with the Middle East” as saying that “the White House report card for Abbas will say ‘Room for improvement.’ For Washington the priorities are cleaning up corruption and protecting the Israelis from attack.”
The report card for Israeli PM Ariel “Ross’s Dominatrix” Sharon will probably say “room for dessart.” But, seriously, KABOBfest’s unnamed source, a western diplomat with expertise in the Executive Branch’s grading policy, leaked us a copy of Sharon’s report card:
Sharon, Ariel
SUBJECT…..GRADE…TEACHER’S COMMENTS
Mathematics..A……Very good at subtracting Palestinians and
dividing historic Palestine.
Physics……A-…..He defies gravity by standing up.
Economics….A+…..Destroyed Palestine’s nascent economy.
Manages to get billions of dollars from US taxpayers annually.
Phys. Ed…..F……Cheats at every game. Calls the referee anti-Semitic
Literature…B……Mastered Orwell’s 1984… a little too well
With the political leadership pushing an anti-UN nut to be the next US representative to that institution, I have to wonder what diplomacy really means. It seems to be professional power-massaging, mixed in with manipulation, and agenda-pushing. It is a dirty business and only a few diplomats ultimately stand up to do something commendable. For the most part, especially when it comes to Israel-Palestine, they are uncritical hand dolls.
