Since announcing his party’s list for the March 28th Knesset elections late last week, Ehud Olmert has issued the orders for the assassination of seven Palestinians, injuring many others over the last three nights.
The acting Israeli Prime Minster appears to be flexing his muscle for his election bid. The candidate with no military or intelligence service background on his resume, needs to prove to the Israeli electorate that he is just as much of a criminal as mongers Sharon, Peres, Rabin, and many of their predecessors.
Unable to provide evidence of any massacres he committed in the past like Sharon’s Rafah, Jenin, Qibya, and Sabra and Shatila, Peres’s Qana, or Rabin’s bone-smashing in Nablus, Olmert is trying to gain the Israeli voter’s trust by demonstrating his will to kill Palestinians at the drop of a hat. His tactic seems to be winning him some votes.
