Which President are you celebrating or honoring today?
Abbas?
Al-Asad?
I'm pulling for Al-Asad. Although he expressed an affinity for "Western Music(meaning that annoying genre of whiny yodeling strangely classified as music)," he does compensate for his lack of musical taste by identifying with "The Pursuit of Happiness." He's hip, in touch with pop culture. The same, sadly, can't be said about Abbas.

Haha Maytha,
I was TOTALLY being sarcastic! I'm no fan of Abbas or ATFP...
Happy President's Day though. What are you doing in celebration of Al-Asad?
- N
You TOTALLY opened the door for "Nadeem bashing" with that statement!
Honestly, I don't get it...
I would like to start a charity fund to donate autographed copies of every Faith Hill album to al-Asad. Will you guys help me? I never really knew what to get him in the past, until he made his interests clear to Diane Sawyer.
EWWWWWWWW-he likes the dixie chicks*? COUNTRY MUSIC?!?!?
What was his reason/explanation?
More than reason enough to protest the puppet president!
That is the finally straw
*Although I cannot stand this American whiny-yodeling genre of music, I do applaud the dixie chicks brave political expressions (and generally agree with their statements).
How about Mubarak?
is is fair to dedicate only one day per year to the president if they are life long presidents?
I'll leave the obsequious adoration of Mubarak to the creator of the "I Love Egypt" Blog Topic Series...
Wow - I never realized how similar to a penis Al-Assad looked until now. Thanks for the video. What a dork...
Abbas might not be as hip as Al-Assad, but damn - at least he doesn't giggle like a little girl.
Hosni, on the other hand, is a REAL PRESIDENT. He's loved by his people so much that even dead Egyptians have been known to vote for him. Now that's a sign of REAL popularity!
Hey - do you think President Al-Assad and King Abdullah get together to watch Star Trek episodes and swap mp3's on a regular basis?
I bet they do...
I'm honoring President Theodore Roosevelt today.
I am onering great prezident and martyr Saddma Hussein today! President of the Palestinian misery!
There is nothing that generates more chuckles than Arab saving face talk - straight from the honor/shame culture kitchen. Maytha's post reminds me of when Saddam was declaring victory while hiding in his bunker and his country being bombed into a powder.
saving face? The only thing I was doing with my face was using my tongue and cheek-yes, that's right-tongue-and-cheek-humor.
to the kabobloggers: what's the low down on ziad asali?
He's a fucking sellout.
