KABOBfashion Report: Kuffieh Out, Niqab In

Following May's latest InRANTation [a copyrighted feature of KABOBfest], we are glad to report that the nihilistic, hyper-apathetic exploitation of the Kaffiyah/Kuffieh/Keffiyeh for fashion purposes is losing ground to the latest Orientalistic co-optation of Eastern images: the niqab, or is Afghan cousin, the burka.

I look forward to lowering my gaze from New York fashion mavens sporting the ninja look this year.

After seeing the photos of Lebanese protesters that Fayyad posted... I say the West can have the niqab, burka, and hijab!

I was never a fan anyway. Our women are far too beautiful to be covered up like that.

New Yorkers on the other hand... eeekh!

haha-actually, when I saw a woman on Broadway near the Columbia area draped in a burka, I thought to myself, "I can't wait for the bukra to be a trend (even though McQueen most controversially used it in what seems in like in the fashion world as eons back-which was 2 years ago!)-so I won't have to see the faces of these vapid, consumer-crazed, co-opters.
