It is not uncommon to frustrated with Jordanian politicians, I am so almost as often as I am with Palestinian ones. But this time, and partly for the sake of making Nadeem turn out the bad guy once more. I'm writing this post to show mad respect for Jordan.
The Israeli embassy in Amman could not find a single hotel in the entire country to host its 59th apartheid celebration. The so-called "Israel Independence" day actually celebrates the establishment of the state of Israel and the creation of the Palestinian Nakba, resulting in the ethnic cleansing of 800,000 Palestinians, and the destruction of their 418 villages, and the denial of Palestinians civil and human rights as well as self determination to live on their land until present day.
Ironically, missing from Israel's celebrations any mention of the Nakba or the continuing plight of entire Palestinian population, more than half of which, almost 4.8 million, remain refugees. And to add insult to injury, some of these celebrations, at least those in Western countries, serve Palestinian food as if it were Israeli. Attempting to pass Hummus, Falafel, and Kabobs as Israeli food is more than just a bad joke or poor taste, rather, a psrt of systemic campaign to deny Palestinian identity that amounts to cultural genocide.
And of course, there to wipe the tear off of Israel's cheek is Jordan's King Abdulla; he sent the embassy a bouquet of flowers.

Oh shit, I had falafel the other day at an Israeli joint. I didn't realize I was part of the systematic campaign to deny Palestinian identity. Thanks for the heads up. In reality, you have the luxury of crafting the palestinian narrative out of thin air from the luxury of your US apartments. Falafel. Hummus. Surely your hatred and kookyness doesn't run so deep that you can't even handle middle eastern food (of which Israel is a part) falling under the umbrella of Israeli food (not to mention that you see falafel in Egyptian restaurants, lebaneese restaurants etc. If anything, your vapid posts, and your loony suggestion that hummus and falafel are under the sole monopoly of some Palestinian entity (please do clarify) is an attempt so erase the Israeli and jewish imprint on what you like to call Palestine. Um, how on earth can you claim that Hummus, techina, falafel, etc are exclusive "Palestinian" foods? Unless you completely deny that Jews have lived in Israel as long as Arabs and Palestinians have, you have no basis for your judgement.
For all you know, Palestinians could have stolen these foods from Jews. The food is middle-eastern by origin, and Jews (certainly sephardi ones) are of middle-eastern descent.

Regardless, the shit is a nasty excuse for food, but if that's all you have, you must eat it. Seems to me the Italians, Brazilians, Chinese and Mexicans have the market cornered, there are some good varitions like Thai and French and don't forget Japanese (mmm sushi) but Middle Eastern food is only needed in cases of survival. I hope I never eat another chickpea or whatever that stuff they call bread is, gross. Get with the program, it's 2007. Learn how to make money and the food will come.
