Roger Howard raises an important question about the mismatch between the attention paid to Darfur vis-a-vis the stunning silence around the massive tragedy in the Congo.
In a remote corner of Africa, millions of civilians have been slaughtered in a conflict fuelled by an almost genocidal ferocity that has no end in sight. Victims have been targeted because of their ethnicity and entire ethnic groups destroyed - but the outside world has turned its back, doing little to save people from the wrath of the various government and rebel militias. You could be forgiven for thinking that this is a depiction of the Sudanese province of Darfur, racked by four years of bitter fighting. But it describes the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has received a fraction of the media attention devoted to Darfur.

There doesn't need to be one, because China, Russia and the Arab League don't drag their feet/whine at the U.N. when the world calls for action.
There is a U.N. peacekeeping mission to Congo and has been for 8 years:

From the U.K. Telegraph:
The crisis faced by up to 400,000 people fleeing fighting in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, is "worse than Darfur", the United Nations' humanitarian chief said yesterday.

The point is that their are all sorts of ongoing human rights crises throught the globe, some of the bordering on genocide.
None of them have the level of Zionist exploitation value as Darfur.

Arab American veterans to march Memorial Day
2007-05-12
DEARBORN — In association with Representative Gino Polidori and Dearborn Councilwoman Suzanne Sareini, the Association of Patriotic Arab Americans in Military (APAAM) will be the first national Arab American veterans organization to march in the Dearborn Memorial Day Parade.
They are marching to honor the memory, service and sacrifice of all Americans who have lost their lives for the defense of America. They are also marching to recognize the heroes from the Arab American community who served and sacrificed their lives during the over 230 years of American history — from Army Private Nathan Badeen who died in 1776 during the Revolutionary War to Marine Corporal Salem Bachar who recently died in Iraq in 2005.
APAAM was created shortly after September 11th, 2001, in an effort to organize current and former Arab Americans in the military. There are approximately 3,500 Arab Americans serving in the armed forces. APAAM has the distinction of being the first official organization for Arab Americans in the military. APAAM's goals are to educate their fellow American and Arab communities of their dual patriotism to their ancestral heritage and to this country, by emphasizing their service and sacrifice as military service men and women, and to ultimately close the gap that lies between bigotry, ignorance and prejudice on one end, and tolerance on the other.
I don't get why people trying to help Darfur bothers you so much.
Because it's yet another example of Islamic Fundamentalism/Facism that the sane people of the world have to0 combat and that is contrary to everything Kabombfest represents. In fact, they encourage Islamic dominance of the world through the use of terror.
I don't get why people trying to help Darfur bothers you so much.
That's a dishonest way of putting it. We are against Darfur being used for political purposes. We question why certain groups have taken a sudden "interest" in it, when there are far worse things going on elsewhere.
It's a valid question.
How is helping Darfur being used for political purposes? A genocide is going on. That seems bad enough to me. With that kind of logic, what's the point of rallying around the Palestinian cause. After all, like as a Palestinian is a lot more peachy than if you were on the streets in Zaire.
I've yet to see support for Darfur being used for political purposes. I suppose genocide should continue until Darfur activists can demonstrate a clear non-political agenda to their actions? Come on now, you don't lack that much of a heart do you?
No. Its pathetic in fact. The fact is, Palestinians have never stood for a global issue that wasn't all about them. They can't even stop killing themselves for a moment to even know what's happening in Darfur. IT's only you little whinney ones that live in the Great Satan that have time on your hands to bitch and moan when Jews try to help others.
"Where's the Save Congo Coalition?"
Don't know. Should we be expecting the Palestinian community to start an international fight against it (I doubt it), or just expect them to complain about Jews involved in the Darfur fight? Gee, you guys are frickin lame-o's.
I know plenty of Muslims (no as many Arabs) who vocally or actively support the Darfur movement.
You don't know what you're talking about.
Do those same Arabs and/or Muslims bitch about the Joos being involved too or are they smarter and nicer people than your typical Kabomber?
