Damn. Last time I saw her was back in '94 during a trip to Gaza when she came to our camp; she didn't look like this. Amazing what 13 years, a $100,000 a month, and a whole lotta motha fuckin' chocolate truffle can do to you.

You bring the heat Nadeem, I guess because I grew up a chubby boy, my empathy kicked in.
In all honesty, I don't know much about S. Arafat, i've tried to do research (google) about her but haven't found out much.
My mom has some theroies. She claims Y. Arafat was involved with her mother? And besides her famous quotes of poisoned water, I'm not sure what else she has done, good or bad.
The biggest criticism I hear is that she was involved in a battle with Post-Arafat cronies over money. But isn't that typical of any wife or husband once the other dies? The issue of inheritance? Or is it that people feel the money wasn't hers or her husbands to begin with?
Ooh, my apologies if it struck a nerve. If it makes you feel any better, I've been battling this Falasteeny karsh for years without any progress...
Suha's an interesting character. My father's generation of men claim that prior to marrying Arafat she had a tarnished reputation - though I'm sure many exaggerate (as we tend to do), they claim she's slept with every man in the West Bank. Probably just a handful though...
Also, yes, there's that rumor that Arafat had a thing with her mom. That's more weird than anything...
Plus there's the whole money grubbing thing. Arafat, as we know, wasn't the best financial manager (understatement of the year). She lived like a queen off of Palestinian money before he died - and then when he passed, she got her hands on way more than her fair share. Stolen from Palestinian mouths - in my, and others', opinions...
But besides all that, she REALLY does look like the girl from Shallow Hal, no?

I'm always skeptical of stuff like that though because I'm careful not to fall into zionist bullshit...akin to Hoover's rumors he used to spread about MLK. Rumors that have some truth and lies, but are meant to distract from the real issues. But what do i know? I know how to make a pizza...
