KSA Defends Punishment for Rape Victim

Reason one trillion why Wahhabism should be purged from Islam, the House of Saud should be overthrown, stripped of its wealth, and exiled, and the House of Shaykh should be tried and sentenced according to their own perverted take on Hamarabi's law…

The Saudi judiciary on Tuesday defended a court verdict that sentenced a 19-year-old victim of a gang rape to six months in jail and 200 lashes because she was with an unrelated male when they were attacked. […]

The ministry implied the victim's sentence was increased [from 90 to 200 lashes] because she spoke out to the press. "For whoever has an objection on verdicts issued, the system allows an appeal without resorting to the media," said the statement, which was carried on the official Saudi Press Agency.
Founded in 1932 by a three-way marriage of convenience between Abdul Aziz ibn Saud, the house of Shaykh, and Great Britain, Saudi Arabia has consistently and methodically violated the human rights of every man, woman, and child to step foot on its soil. This news story of a rape victim being convicted and tortured for being at the wrong place at the wrong time is only the latest example of how the Saudi government's self-righteous bullshit rule of law holds an entire nation hostage.

Tell me, why does the United States consider the Taliban a criminal government but welcome Saudi Royalty with open arms when both rule according to the criminal blasphemy that's Wahhabism?

For a great primer on Saudi Arabia, I recommend As'ad AbuKhalil's The Battle for Saudi Arabia: Royalty, Fundamentalism, and Global Power

This reminds me of a story in Parshah Lech-Lecha...

Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, arrived in the city of Sodom. Upon arrival, he was attacked and beaten.

Bruised and bleeding, Eliezer took his attackers to the city court. However, after hearing the facts, the Sodomite judge ruled in favor of the attackers, arguing that, since blood letting is healthy, the attackers actually performed a valuable service, and Eliezer should pay them for beating him and causing him to bleed!

Upon hearing this insanity, Eliezer took his walking stick and hit the judge hard until the judge bled. He then told the judge, "There, now you owe me! Pay them (the attackers)!"

the difference between this case and other cases in the past is that it actually made it to the headlines.. there's anger in the country for what happened, it's out on mainstream news media in saudi arabia and abroad.. and the fact that her husband supported her and that a lawyer who took her case is something new in the kingdom.. her male relatives could've killed her to "save their honor"
