Walls of Shame

Check out Al-Jazeera, English’s six-part series on geo-political walls. It covers US-Mexico, Morocco-Spain, and Israel-Palestine.

  1. Didn’t see the Al Jazeera article, but an exhaustive list of Separation Barriers can be found here.

There is nothing shameful about a nation regaining control over its sovereignty and managing migration flows, whether for reasons of counter-terrorism, smuggling or immigration.

The effectiveness of barriers in enhancing peace and security – particularly in mitigating ethnic strife – are well established, leading them to be increasingly adopted in hot spots throughout the world.

  3. “for reasons of counter-terrorism, smuggling or immigration . . .”

or to brutally pacify an indigenous population so that neo-colonial racists can enjoy their newly stolen lebensraum.

  4. A Security Barrier, by both definition and practical application, cannot “pacify an indigenous population”.

One of the fastest growing areas – from an intellectual standpoint – in modern warfare is Low Intensity Combat (LIC). LIC is designed to do just what you said, to “pacify an indigenous population”.

However, doing so brutally is generally counterproductive (unless you’re an Arab despot or terrorist group; they you can do whatever you want and no one can whimper an objection).

You loons don’t know what brutal is. Palestinians are suffering in Judea and Samaria (at the hands of their own, if not by the hands of the Israelis), but “brutal” is a word that should be reserved for true brutality.

When they cook a dish in the Middle East, it is traditional to put the meat on top of the rice when they serve it. They kidnapped a woman’s baby in Baghdad, a toddler, and because the mother was unable to pay the ransom, they returned her child – beheaded, roasted and served on a mound of rice.

For all your capitalist bashing and anti-imperialist bitching, I wonder if there has been a SINGLE post on this site about atrocities committed by Islamist scum against the people of Iraq… that did not somehow manage to shift the blame to the Americans.

Neo-Colonialism. Imperialism. Class struggle. Racism. You people are from a bygone era. You would have fit in well in the Soviet Union. They preferred sheep.

  5. And you zionuts would fit well in South Africa — although in some ways I would actually prefer them to you.

At least they admitted they were racists. They didn’t hide behind obfuscations like “security barrier” to describe an interlocking system of open-air prison cells.

Racism is from a bygone era? Seriously? Go sell delusion elsewhere.
