When a visiting Halabi friend of a 50 something, unmarried, old maid aunt of yours has made it her mission to find her friend's 25 year-old niece (me), who she has never met, a husband.
When I mentioned this last point to a friend, that besides my obvious rejections to this "friend"'s self-appointment as my surrogate matchmaker, on a logical basis, that I was incredulous that a woman I had never met would find me the perfect mate, he responded with this:
"Well, I mean, there are some universals in matchmaking"

Don't worry, if you're like 23 - 24, you've got at least another year before your market expiration date passes. After that you'll need your aunt to step in & find you a 40 year old divorced dude with 3 kids.
Actually, I am 25-so according to you, I should be shopping around for the practically un-remarriable social rejects at this point.
But I don't believe in this dead-end fate. There is still hope in my books. I am simply banking on the fact that Suheir Hammad is somewhere in her mid-thirties and still highly desirable to 90 percent of Arab men from 18-45 demographic.
I know I'm not a world famous, a slender, statuesque Palestinian goddess poet who is a Def Poetry staple-BUT I'm still banking on this special, defies all odds and mathmatical match-making formula findings, case.

hahaha-no im not. Actually Suheir's pull is pretty universal. And in fashioning my life to mimick her's "single white female"-style, I have expanded my selection pool.

I dunno, Safiyyah. Most the women on that site look pretty "average" to me. What's your opinion of the men? And some of the hijabi's look hot, but maybe that's just me being perverse :P
