"I promise I will be a good boy and break the legs of any peace-hating (read: anti-Zionist) Palestinian that tries to leave Gaza....now please give me more money for my retirement fund - oh whoops, I forgot that I will never retire."
While Gaza gets more messed up than mulukhiyya, these two are going to shake hands and lick each other, while toasting to the Israelis finishing off the resistance as soon as possible.
People are going to gather on Tuesday at noon in front of the Lawyers' Syndicate in Downtown Cairo to express their varied and multifaceted emotions around this.

Arab/Palestinian-Americans are the source of all evil. They are a major threat to peace and security.
There's plenty of evil in this conflict to go around on both sides. No side has a monopoly, not even close to it.
For instance, the Israeli settlers attempting to 'colonize' the West Bank and destroying any hope of a peace process. Fuck those guys!
And the Hamas assholes firing Qassams and Katushyas so Israeli civilians can never know any semblance of a normal life. Fuck those guys!
Pretending that one side has a monopoly on goodness in this conflict is fucking stupid. And fuck you, doubly, for pretending that Arab/Palestinian Americans are somehow the real issue half-way around the world, when THEY DON'T EVEN LIVE IN THE FUCKING REGION, THEY'RE AMERICANS.
As a Jewish American, I think Americans of all stripes -- Arab and Palestinian Americans, Jewish and Israeli Americans, all Americans -- have a great role to play in un-fucking-up the region. Our country is basically the world's best example of how life improves for everyone if we quit focusing on religion and tribalism as the be-all and end-all of life and focus more on secularism and materialism.
This is where I'd like to see the Palestinians outdo the Israelis, and where I'd think they could gain major international sympathy points -- an attitude of "Oh yeah? Well, we can reject religious-based living and adopt a modernist, secular humanist way of living better and faster than you can!".
"Oh yeah? Well, we can reject religious-based living and adopt a modernist, secular humanist way of living better and faster than you can!".
Dream on. I gave up on that a couple years ago. These bloggers right here are amongst those who caused me to lose hope.
The only good Arab is a dead Arab. The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist.
A world without Arabs will be a world without terror.
God Bless the State of Israel.
God Bless America.
hi joe - your comments here are interesting. (like I said in another post, you'd be better off not even addressing the trolls if you want any real discussion).
there have been many reasonable, secular, technocratic, etc. etc. palestinians who have tried to gain influence in the political movements there. sadly, between the israelis and the powers that be - fatah - many have been deported, murdered, disappeared or just silenced by threats.
for a great window into this check out Sari Nusseibeh's book that came out last year: Once Upon a Country, A Palestinian Life
So your response to Joe is to go educate himself about the "nobility" of Palestinians. Rather than to speak for yourself. Typical.
