Heartburn Sufferers for Palestine

This is a very funny, very serious cause. Please consider joining the new Facebook group “Heartburn Sufferers for Palestine” if you suffer from heartburn and are for justice in Palestine. Its mission is described in this way:

As a committed heartburn sufferer and campaigner for justice in Palestine, I have a dilemma. The drug I rely on, omeprazole, and which is one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world now comes in two forms: the more expensive brand name “Prilosec” which is made in Sweden, and the less expensive generic (sold under the name omeprazole) which is made in Israel. As someone committed to the Palestinian civil society call for boycott, divestment and sanctions in support of Palestinian rights and against Israeli apartheid, I hereby pledge only to buy omeprazole made in countries that respect human rights and do not practice apartheid. Will you join me in taking the heart burn sufferers’ pledge for Palestine?

  2. I do not get major heartburn, but get it in small doses. Am I strange for actually liking the sensation? I’m not sure why, but that acidic creeping feeling makes me warm.

  3. This is great! I think the next step should be for Palestinians on the ground to stop going, en masse, to Hadassah hospital, where the majority are treated free of charge by Israeli doctors.

You activists are the funniest people. If you’re going to launch a boycott, make it a REAL boycott, not this pissy wissy “within my comfort zone” boycott.

I believe Israel’s Teva Pharmaceuticals are the #1 generic drug manufacturer in the world, supplying low cost, high quality generic drugs to hundreds of millions of poor people around the world.

BTW, every time I go to an Arab food store in America, half the shelves are filled with Israeli products.

    Good luck!
