An internal memo on sartorial guidelines for the Obama campaign staff during his tour of the Middle East discouraged the wearing of green clothing. Why? Obama staffers fear sporting the color of Islam could be read as support for Hamas.
Most of the comments in the Politico article on this ranged from puzzled to exasperated. The best comment was by the Republican hack who joked they are probably banning croissant consumption because of its crescent shape.
The nervous staffers are probably just avoiding a Rachel Ray moment. We all know the Islamophobe blogosphere is quite capable of zaniness when it comes to interpreting what people wear.
His campaign, for being so careful about colors, has unfortunately let him wear other controversial colors in the past: Confederate grey, Mussolini brown, Nazi Red, and Hurricane Katrina flood waters blue.

Green is the color of the biggest fad since [red]-- WTF? Maybe they should have discouraged the particular hue of green. Hamas really needs to get themselves a graphic designer.
Also, anyone hear about the dumbass Israeli nationalist who created the "Obama is my Slave" tshirt. The irony here is not that the guy is a bigot, it is that the web coverage of him (i.e. Huffington Post) crops out his Israeli Army cap. Yes, let's all be PC towards the guy who doesn't know the meaning of PC.
Let's all pretend that an Arab American made that tshirt and was wearing a Intifada cap... I'm sure the press would not run the headline: Arab American creates Racist Tshirt, Wears Intifada Cap.
Double standard. Yes.
Umm.. you REALLY should check out pictures of "anti-war" protests in New York, California, Chicago, etc. Many of the Arabs involved print t-shirts with much worse than this, publicly urging the destruction of the US.
Thanks for defending a racist, Sara. Are you Israeli, too?
You expect "free speech" and understanding for your own racists, and then condemn ours? Learn some consistency, hypocrite.
