The dips at the end of the chart are because 2008 is only half way over. As you can see, the levels are more than half last year’s level. As Bush administration spin declares increasing success in Iraq, the Air Force is dropping more bombs. Afghanistan, where they claimed success long ago, is only progressively getting worse — an observation not even the administration denies. Officials speak of moving brigades from Iraq to Afghanistan. Each extra bomb dropped is one more act of desperation. Civilians die automatically — collateral damage — yet are never “targetted”. Let the bombs symbolize President Bush’s destructive legacy.

Get a grip, Will. Your guys lost in Iraq. Deal with it. And speaking of “spin” you are taking it to whole new levels trying to use stats like this to try to pretend the “resistance” is still alive and well in Iraq…
And what kind of a pig are you to be supporting people who mass murder innocent Iraqis in the name of resistance, anyway?
Stick to Palestine.
Posted by programmer craig | July 15, 2008, 2:27 pmBy the way, Will, even Obama is calling for immediately moving 10,000 troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. And as i recall, it was your guys on the left who have been proclaiming victory in Afghanistan all this time. The Bush Admin has been in a constant struggle to try and get NATO partners to send more troops, right from the start.

It’s utterly backward of you to measure the occupation’s success by the magnitude of the military inferno your guys implicted upon the defenceless Iraqis, works pretty well for you, doesn’t it?
