A couple of weeks ago, a beautiful woman introduced me to this performance by Murad Sweiti, a great singer who represented Palestine at the most recent Super Star talent show. He performed a Palestinian folklore song called “Alli El Kuffiya,” Raise the Kuffiya. I can’t get enough of it. There are a few people who I can think of who won’t be able to help but do Dabkeh when they listen to it, and if they happened to be at work, they’ll get a twitch in the leg or the shoulder. Right PB?
For a longer version and a Dabkeh performance, check this out.
And while spending time surfing YouTube for Murad videos, I can across this unrelated one, but it is my shout out to my little bro, Siddeeq. I had promised to call him a few days ago, and still have not. I hope he’s not mad at me when I finally call.

alli il kuffiya’s only drawback is that its a fatah themesong and so dancing to it makes you feel dirty.

Posted by Mohammad | September 11, 2008, 5:38 pmThis is old news, buddy. I agree, it’s a catchy song, and I was really happy when I was first watching it, then I found out that it is, indeed, a Fate7 song, and I am very far from being a Fate7 fan, so I had to keep stating over and over that I don’t support fate7, I just like the song. And let’s not hate on Murad. The kid’s like 6 years old or something. 7aram, give him a break.
