Since we’re on the topic of having to thank the bottom of the barrel for coming to the defense of the Muslim faith when nobody else will…
One of the two VP candidates just said that religious discrimination is both inappropriate and unacceptable and that their party welcomes all Muslims. That candidate wasn’t Joe Biden. And that party wasn’t the Democrats.
QUESTION: Do you think the Republican Party should embrace the party’s Muslims?SARAH PALIN: We’re not going to discriminate against anyone’s religion at all. No, that is not appropriate and not acceptable in my book to discriminate.

Well, as the only McCain/Palin backing Repub right-wing bottom-feeder on itoot, I want to say ‘you are welcome’.
“Embrace” is a much more intimate for acceptance than ‘tolerate’, it implies relationship. Muslims and Evangelical Christians (of which I am one, like Gov. Palin) have puh-lenty of mutually embracable causes.
It’s time to get to know each other well enough to embrace, rather than just tolerate to get votes. Both of us can be as prickly as porcupines, and hard to embrace when we make abortion and Palestine our litmus tests for relationship. They are extremely important topics, critical, but we can’t shut those out who don’t really understand until they know us.
I took on my zionist friends at church, (http://kinziblogs.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/kinzi-preaches-to-zionist-hearts/) you guys need to take on your less savory friends too. Deal? THEN we can dance.

Yeah, the fucked up ones. Anti-choice, anti-gay, pro-believing-a-magical-sky-daddy’s-medieval-morality-should-dictate-the-course-of-your-life.
Yay for congregating all the people actively working to destroy America’s greatness in one place!

Just a comment on that point.
Both Conservatives and Liberals view abortion in terms of collectivism. The only difference that separates the two is in the nature of the collectives. Liberals view abortion as a “women’s rights” issue with the driving force being egalitarianism. Conservatives see the collective as “Christian society” with the driving force being mysticism and religious morality.
A woman’s right to an abortion has nothing to do with the good of any collective.
Posted by Mo | October 27, 2008, 3:14 amParty affiliation doesn’t carry much weight with the Arab voter. George W. Bush enjoyed the support of Arab Americans and of Muslim Americans in general, thats because we predicted a long time ago that Lieberman is Zionist Israeli firster whose allegiance is not with this country, something Americans are just beginning to realize.

I hate Lieberman with a passion, for any number of reasons, including his foreign policy positions — I wouldn’t call him an “Israel firster”, though. Sadly, he really does believe his vision of America’s ideal foreign policy would best serve American interests.
Posted by Joe | October 27, 2008, 8:37 pmI can’t keep quiet about this any more: why are you defending her? BO and JB should be criticized, absolutely, but this is the woman who is smiling as people shout “n****r” at her rallies. Don’t defend her, don’t stoop to defend her to make others look more embarrassing.
Posted by NotBored | October 28, 2008, 7:14 amWho is defending her?

Whatever…tomorrow she will probably say something different.
