I think it's great, a bit tragic, a dash of messy but nonetheless great. A woman like her could have never existed in Kuwait 40 years ago, and the fact that she has her own TV show could only mean progress. (In the narrow sense of liberals being able to express themselves fully).

To me, it means that the progressive, liberal and somewhat permissive pop culture of the Levant (and, to a lesser extent, North Africa) is finally seeping into the decidedly traditional and conservative Gulf. This is a good harbinger of whats to come.

It seems that any woman, who was going to challenge the prevailing attitudes in her society, would have to do it in an exaggerated, drag queen caricature of herself. Sort of like Haifa did in Lebanon.
