CHINESE FUCKING DEMOCRACY!!!

Ten years in the making and Axel Rose, along with the new line-up of Guns N’ Roses, officially release Chinese Democracy. Say what you will about Axel and the boys, but they are without a doubt one of the greatest American rock groups of the 1980′s — if not all time.

Best of all — and the reason why I’m posting this on KABOBfest — is the fact that G n’ R dedicated the release of their new album and title track to “those fighting oppression” and even teamed with B’Tselem and UNRWA to produce a video that shows the carnage of daily life in Palestine.

For a man who’s invested 10 years of his life into creating this album and staked his entire musical legacy on the level of success it achieves, THAT TAKES BALLS.

Thank you Axel Rose for kicking ass both on and off stage.

  2. yo, I wish this was an official release, that would be fucking cool. Unfortunately the site isn’t official (this is GnR’s official site: http://web.gunsnroses.com).

The video was made by some “unofficial” fans and someone named bessamk.

Sorry to rain on the parade Nadeem, but look on the bright side. It means you aren’t the only Arab that likes butt-rock!

  3. It is just a fan video. But it’s also a release from G-n-R’s official fan club. So, while it may not be Axal-endorsed, it’s still great. Guns were the best man!

  5. I found this very interesting article about the 100 million missing girls in Asia. India, China, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan are aborting and starving girls because of prejudice. Obviously this will become a huge problem soon when the boys start looking for wives and find that the world simply does not have enough enough women.

In China, the official rate is 124 boys for every 100 girls, but I think the rate is much worse than that. When living in China, sometimes I count the kids passing by. Out of 20 kids, 17 usually are boys and only very rarely do I find a ratio better than 2 boys for every girl. I once taught a class of 33 students where only 3 were girls!

I think we can help fight the problem by increasing education, raising awareness, banning sex-selective abortions, and adopting girls from India and China. I don't doubt the shortage of women in Asia will affect the whole planet one day. We should be scared.
