It is not clear whether this is from fears that it involves spiritual elements from a polytheistic religion or because it involves people twisting and bending in ways that make conservative types uncomfortable. especially when it comes to any possible “hymen-endangering” postures…like these maybe?
Now when will the Wahhabis come up with a similar fatwa? They already had one on accidental anal (marital) sex and its dangers, so they can’t get left behind on this one…
P.S.: I heard a story a while ago that a Palestine solidarity activist staying with a family in Jenin (or was it Nablus?) got in major trouble because someone walked in on him in the morning and saw him doing yoga, and thought he was making fun of the way Muslims are (supposed to) pray! Was he doing a posture like these?
