Thanks Qui Qui for that racist portrayal. And Obama isn’t even elected yet, stop letting your overt and paranoid anti-Obama hatred cloud your “better” judgment, and rain down criticism upon him because he doesn’t agree with your “educated” ass to the nth degree.

Posted by Hime | January 7, 2009, 7:12 amI just knew when I saw this that people would assume it is racist.
Bush was depicted as a monkey countless times. The same is done to Obama and it is racism. We will never have equality in this country until all races can be treated equally, and that means the good and the bad.
and Bill, Obama has not hesitated to speak out and discuss his plans on countless other issues. He had no issue on commenting on Mumbai. This is fair game, and it may be your judgment that is clouded.
Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2009, 8:17 amObama broke his silence on the issue on Tuesday, saying the loss of civilian life in both Gaza and Israel was “a source of deep concern” for him.
“After January 20th I’m going to have plenty to say about the issue,” Obama said.
Posted by Roy | January 7, 2009, 9:57 amHere’s his statement about Mumbai:
“President-Elect Obama strongly condemns today’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, and his thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of India. These coordinated attacks on innocent civilians demonstrate the grave and urgent threat of terrorism. The United States must continue to strengthen our partnerships with India and nations around the world to root out and destroy terrorist networks. We stand with the people of India, whose democracy will prove far more resilient than the hateful ideology that led to these attacks,” said Brooke Anderson, Chief National Security Spokesperson.
Doesn’t look like he commented much more on one than the other. He certainly didn’t go try to solve anything.
Posted by Roy | January 7, 2009, 9:59 amQuiQui is just mad because she supported Nader and was trying to get everyone here to vote for Nader.
Obama won. Not all progressives are commie sympathizers.
Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2009, 10:56 amWitness, again, the difference between liberals and leftists.
I’m proudly the former. QuiQui’s proudly the latter.
One works to improve their country. The other posts snarky cartoons on their blog.
Posted by Joe | January 7, 2009, 11:07 amWitness, again, the difference between liberals and leftists.
Liberals believe that not only is there an acceptable middle ground between the truth and lies, between good and evil, and between civilization and barbarism, but that this mythical middle ground is the most desirable place to be. They call this “realpolitik” and “centrism” when in reality it is just cowardice and collaboration. Anyone with a sense of morals or responsibility who opts out of this delusional groupthink to pursue a genuine progressive agenda is a “leftist extremist,” and we all know how bad that is.
The end result is that liberals have so compromised their principles as to have no principles anymore. They consistently vote for “representatives” that do not represent anything they claim to stand for. They are so terrified at the prospect of losing elections that they will vote for anyone who appears to be 5 percent to the left of whatever fascist the right wing is running.
They regard candidates that share their supposed ideals as inherently unelectable, or worse, as “traitors,” “narcissists” and “mentally unbalanced.”
Liberals consistently vote against their own self interest out of a smug sense of superiority that convinces them the rest of the population is too stupid to vote in their own self interest.
They swallow a bunch of pablum about “hope and change” like pigs at the trough, but dismiss any evidence the new boss is looking a lot like the old boss with rubberstamp claims that he is just doing what he needs to do to get elected (that is, lying to conservatives) and he is reaching out to the Right. Yeah, he is reaching out so far to the Right he’s embedded himself up their asses and is looking to establish permanent headquarters there, and he’s not even in office yet. The possibility that someone who would allegedly masquerade as a conservative to get elected might just as easily lie about his progressive credentials escapes them. To suggest it might not be a masquerade is sacrilege.
They haven’t figured out that the lesser of two evils is still evil.
