Best Seat in the House

Is Israeli TV so bad that Israelis are gathering to watch the daytime fireworks show in Gaza?

If I was an enterprising Israeli, I would take advantage of the crowds and set up a hot dog stand (Hebrew National dogs only…yes, the brand that answers to a higher authority) and a kosher popcorn machine to cater to these spectators.

But, I’m not. Instead I just fear for the safety of my family locked away in the bottom floor of our house in Bait Lahiya, and hope I can reach them by phone just to know they’re alive.

I’m glad my family’s suffering amuses Israelis…like the three amigos pictured above or the four sporty musketeers below (does anything unite secular and orthodox Israelis more than bombing Palestinians?).

Watching TV on the Sabbath remains prohibited. Apparently, watching and cheering on the live slaughter of Palestinians is permissible. I only bring up their faith because of the obvious contradiction of the faithful taking delight in sin.

To any Israeli TV producers out there, Palestinians being torn to shreds by shrapnel would make for great reality TV, especially with the arch-Zionist demo. The show should be called “Operation Cast Lead.”

Update: Seems there already are concession stands, according to this video from Danish TV. Listen to the Israeli English-speaker say they should completely destroy Gaza City and then admit she’s “a little fascist.” The banality of evil comes to mind.

  1. I guess the provocation by Hamas for several years and total helplessness by the Israelis when their hands were tied behind their backs, result in joy for being able to finally put an end to the threats, missiles and arrogance of Hamas. To me this looks very modest and almost civilized compared to the jubilee on the other side when Israeli side is hurt.

  2. Arno is a shameless hypocrite….. surprise surprise.I think they like it better from afar. It kind of ruins the buzz when you have to see the children bleeding out of their limbs and their mothers shrieking in the unbearable pain of horrific loss.Well, for some. Others just know that if that footage was available, Americans who remain ignorant might become aware.I'm sure aerial photography of "precision" bombing runs and footage from afar would be VERY trendy and popular.

  3. Seriously. I heard this Immigrant from Russia or Poland on Israel TV asking the reporter: ” why can’t you do in Gaza what Putin did in Chechnya?”
    That made me laugh.

  4. The “live slaughter” of Palestinians seems to have slowed quite a bit. Most of the attacks aren’t killing anyone. Pretty good wrap-up at the link.

  5. Yes, these people deriving such pleasure from “the show” are frightening! All that’s missing is popcorn and coca cola. Wait, I take that back, as refreshments seem to be provided. Disgusting.

  6. This double morale is amazing. You are looking needles in the haystack to show how “evil” Jews are and at the same time people scream on US streets that they need bigger owens for the Jews. The hatred Jews show is 1% of what the Islamic world and pro Palestinians have. But I guess the difference is that Jews are judged by western standards and pro-palestinians by Arab standards, which means that they do not really mean what they say, they are just emotional.

Hatred is bad where ever it happens but Israel needs to react the same way as their enemy does in the ME, not like westerners. If they do, they will be walked over in no time. Do you think the Arab countries would give them any slack should they turn pacifists?

  7. I just threw up in my mouth a little when that woman spoke. I hope she gets hit by a Qassam.

  8. Small example from the other side:

Al-Qaradawi has been praised by Islamic scholar John Esposito as a champion of a “reformist interpretation of Islam and its relationship to democracy, pluralism and human rights. This is what he said in a prayer on the 9th of January:

“Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people. Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one.”

Should we take this literally? Is this OK? I am sure most of the simpleton listeners think so on both accounts.

  9. Israeli’s are lining up to watch Gaza get slaughtered. Educated Israelis.

Even mainstream Israeli ministers are using the word “Shoah” (the hebrew word used to describe the Holocaust) to describe what they want to do to Gaza.

It might be true that things are said on both sides. However, Israel actually has the means to implement genocide, the Palestinians don’t.

Which is why one isn’t going on.

  11. This is a disgusting video indeed, and the people interviewed are disgusting people.

Please keep in mind that these people are a minority that represent only the extreme scum of the Israeli people, while people with ideas not very different actually control Gaza. The political and religious leaders of the Hamas talk freely of the annihilation of Israel and all “The Jews” publicly, and do so all the time.

  12. Sayyin,

Again using words like “genocide” lightly. Either your do not know what the word means or you use it to demonize Israel. Either way it is wrong. If the aim is genocide, Israel has miserably failed. I would have expected at least 100.000 dead to call it even a modest success.

Israel wages the most civilized war of any army fighting against barbarians with no regard to human life, their own, their children, let alone the enemy and their children.

Sayyin: let me ask you this: if Hamas would now get a nuclear bomb in their hands, would they use it against Israel? What do you think?

  13. Not outrageous:
In one incident, Palestinian gunmen opened fire at Israeli ground forces from a mosque and were then attacked by Israeli aircraft, the army said. Later, the Israeli troops found Qassam rockets and mortar shells inside the mosque.

  14. That freaky woman called herself a fascist. What more do you want? DISGUSTING!

  15. Hmm, not such a surprising sight for me I’m afraid. I have seen a number of pictures of colleagues in Israel on holiday or doing military service throwing things at Palestinians or generally putting 2 fingers up towards the other side of the wall. It must be a favourite Zionist past time, to oppress a people, terrorise their every day and then take pictures to share with the family.

Also, if Hamas had a nuclear bomb, it would not be the leader of such an oppressed people. It would have the leverage to retain it’s land. That is hypothetically speaking if the US hadn’t accused it of having WMD even before it started the process (oh and waged a war on it, to later find no such WMDs), and of course if Israel did not have one aswell.

Why is it that in THIS war women and children are no longer even civilians? Everyone is Hamas. And when a child dies it was a human shield! Of course!

If this was SUCH a humane war against barbarians then please explain why rockets were still fired into Israel? Why were the rocket launchers not attacked? Why were families rounded up into “safe houses” which were then bombed? And please don’t feed me the line of, Hamas were hiding in the Safe House. Houdini it’s members are not!

And definition of barbarian = involuntary movement of a nation’s peoples when a new state is formed on the same land WITHOUT consent of the previous nation. Citizens of previous nation stripped of nationality, religious discrimination in allowing Muslim inhabitants of new state to pray at shared sacred site. Apartheid wall formed, cutting through previous nation’s citizens’ lands. Checkpoints and curfews enforced in Palestinian land with regular deprivation of water and power.

I wonder where the anger arises from? Truly I do. Perhaps it is just me, but rather than judging the victims here I am trying to imagine HOW desperate they must truly be feeling when the rest of the “free” world turns the other cheek. The “free” world with its acceptance of no foreign or independent journalists reporting from inside the war torn area, and those media outlets there such as Press TV and Al Jazeerah being labelled as Palestinian propoganda.

That is what you call hypocrisy. Something the west and many arab leaders share.
