
Nearly 1,000 people from a number of organizations (and many, such as myself, not affiliated with any organization) showed up today in Boston to stand in solidarity with Gaza. The rally was peaceful for the most part: there was only one small altercation, which happened when a zionist counter-protester spit at members of the Gaza solidarity rally. The incident was quickly cleared.
My personal favorite protesters of the day were this fellow, who brought along shoes in case any global leaders showed up:

There were more then 300 people at the rally and the march. I would say there were around a thousand people at the peak of the demo.

Posted by Julia | January 4, 2009, 12:05 amI agree with everyone else so far, it was close to 1000 demonstrators.The shoe guy made a stronger statement than many of us, kudos to him.Anger and emotions were at their peak when we stoped outside of the Israeli embassy. I could clearly sense the raw emotions of those fed-up of decades of war crimes.
