Hollywood Stars Shun Pro-Israeli Diamond Store

Al-Arabiya reported on the growing movement to boycott pro-Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev’s diamond business. He is linked to settlement expansion in the West Bank and right-wing Zionist causes. The campaign has had several victories recently and convinced high-profile Hollywood stars to disassociate themselves from Leviev.

Hollywood stars have called for their pictures to be removed from the website of a diamond company that is associated with settlement expansion in Israel and human rights violations in Africa.

The diamond stores owned by Jewish-American billionaire Lev Leviev had to remove pictures of several actresses after they complained of being linked to a company that funds settlements in the Palestinian occupied territories, a statement issued by the pro-Palestinian human rights group Adalah- New York said.

The actresses include Salma Hayek, Sharon Stone, Whitney Houston, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields, Andie Macdowell, and Lucy Liu.

The celebrities were contacted by the rights group Adalah and the New York based ‘Jews Against the Occupation’ and asked them to distance themselves from a corporation that supports the Zionist project.

The stars took action only after being contacted by the activists working to expose Leviev’s anti-human rights agenda.

After the protests against Israeli state terrorism settle down, this is exactly the kind of long-term activism supporters of Palestinian rights should embark on. I hope today’s protesters become tomorrow’s organizers.

  1. I’m glad Hollywood stars are shunning these diamonds because the Arabs seem to be enjoying them more than they should. The UAE has two of Leviev’s stores.

  2. Arabs don’t give a shit where diamonds come from. Blood diamonds are probably MORE prized in the Gulf, because someone gave their life for some Arab sharmoota to wear them.

    • it is not all the arabs, but just the one of the gulf area … they are pigs. same as some jews have beautiful minds and others are sharmuta or born from one.

  3. Recent reports have exposed the fact that Israel is the worlds leading exporter of diamods and that regardles of the war crimes and crimes against humanity funded by revenue from Israeli diamonds, Israeli diamonds are not classed as blood diamonds. The Kimberly Process of self regulation by the diamond industry is totally discredited as it allows Israeli blood diamonds to freely enter the market.
