Some Former Gitmo Inmates Are SO Unappreciative

CBS News reported that “Two Ex-Gitmo Detainees Renew Pledge To Attack Western Interests in New Al Qaeda Video.”

It is apparent these two ex-prisoners did not get the “Stockholm syndrome.” Though it sounds like a Scandinavian STD, it’s a fuzzy psychological term that describes when people held captive come to empathize with their captors.

As far as I can tell, the term is not connected to the sometimes overbearing hospitality of the Swedes.

I’m not sure why their stays at camp X-Ray or Delta, or whatever the resort’s name was, is angering them. American taxpayers kept them on a tropical island, provided them with free rent, food, orange jumpsuits, Quran disposals, health care, and all the Eminem music they could listen to (and more), and this is how the re-pay us? Geez.

What next? Gazans will hate Israel for its generous renovations to their run-down buildings and infrastructure?!

  1. Contained in your irony is a kernel of bitter truth. No, they won’t appreciate the tropical retreat that Club Gitmo was and remains to this day. Americans are weak. If they had been dealt with as the Russians dealt with Chechen terrorists – living like animals earthen pits, pissing and shitting where they ate, injected with one poison after another to induce the most grotesque pain imaginable – they would not have resorted back to terrorism.

Let’s face it, the worst thing an al Qaeda terrorist has to fear is (in the worst case) instant death by a missile or (best case) years of incarceration in clean, dry, warm facilities with a basketball hoop, reading materials, and time to finish your autobiography.

That’s not exactly compelling enough to stop their violence. If we started cutting off fingers from their mother, father and brothers, I think they would have a real change of heart.

  2. Yeah, and then America would be just like Russia. Woo-hoo, wouldn’t that be great.

  3. I thought Palis love Russia? Isn’t the dob your big protector? The Russians seem to think so.

  4. Ummm, Will? That would be “empathize”.
I’m annoying only because I’m always right.
