Strip Maul-Thank you Jon Stewart

You all have, by now, been forwarded and seen the Strip Maul segment from Jon Stewart’s Daily Show (Monday, January 5th). This post is to tell you about the next chapter in this bright spot:

Thank You Jon Stewart… Log on and send Jon a love letter, or thank him for his journalistic integrity, because with that satire, he did more justice to the story, and presented more context than most news stories on American TV… Journalistic ethic, even though as he once put it, “the show that leads into me is puppets making crank phone calls.”

It is no wonder that news networks are realizing they are losing audience to Stewart, Colbert, and the likes. CNN has brought on D.L. Hughley, Fox News added the Red Eye mock news show, and NBC brought on Joe Scarborough. But they are still missing the point, they don’t need more jokes in the news, the just need news in their pathetic ramblings.

We have referenced many Jon Stewart clips on this blog over the years, but for historical and journalistic reference, here is one of my all time favorite, with Jon on the other side of the mic.

Watching the Jon Stewart’s show is worth a lot more than watching all the other main stream media.
