You know what would help Gaza tremendously? Ending the war.
Posted by Roy | January 5, 2009, 3:38 pmWho needs your aid? Arabs will give oil money to rebuild infrastructure and the UN already has its warehouses in Gaza bursting with food.
Of course, any rebuilding that is done will benefit Israel and Egypt. Where else will you get steel, cement, etc? In a way, any rebuilding effort will just filter through to benefit Israel and Egypt.
I suppose it’s better that Hamas now has to spend Iranian money on rebuilding its palaces, instead of purchasing more weapons.

Exactly Roy, tell Israel to get out of Gaza. Then tell Israel to end the blockade on Gaza. Once thats done, tell Israel to end its brutal occupation of the West Bank. Lets see what happens after that.
“I suppose it’s better that Hamas now has to spend Iranian money on rebuilding its palaces”
I did a massive google search looking for these palaces. Couldn’t find them. Although I did find some nice Israeli seaside villas.
“UN already has its warehouses in Gaza bursting with food.”
I suppose pretending that there is tons of food in Gaza helps you sleep at night.

Thats excellent. It may give Israel an incentive to let the Gazans build in peace. Perhaps they should extend that logic to the West Bank.
But on a serious note. Shame on all of you for actually trying justify the denial of aid to a refugee population.

Jan 1st, 2009:
The World Food Programme has informed Israel that they will not be resuming shipment of food commodities in to Gaza due to the fact that their warehouses are at full capacity and will last for approximately two weeks.
Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2009, 5:23 pmIt’s true, there is more than enough food. The problem is to distribute this food from the warehouses under rockets and gunfire from all sides.
BTW, somehow I don’t think Hamas leaders are starving in their bunkers.
Some are saying that many Hamas leaders were evacuated through the Rafah tunnels to hide with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Why should Israel be the one to help Gaza? Ending the war helps Gaza. Gazans should end the war. Or stop feeling all sad.
Posted by Roy | January 5, 2009, 6:24 pmCan we get a sound off on all the people who donated money? Please list how much you donated.
