‘Waltz with Bashir’ wins Globes best foreign film
Israeli movie “Waltz With Bashir” won best foreign language film award at the Golden Globes here Sunday.
Ari Folman’s film is a moving animated memoir of the director’s experiences as a young Israeli soldier during his country’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982.
“I hope one day when (children) grow up and see this film… it looks like an ancient videogame and has nothing to do with their life whatsoever,” Folman told guests at the Beverly Hilton in his acceptance speech.
KABOBfest’s Will has already predicted that in about 20 years, one of the Israeli soldiers currently partaking in the invasion of Gaza will make an award-winning film called “Waltz With Abbas,” recounting his experience in committing war crimes, with some psychoanalytic prelude that exonerates himself from responsibility for own action…
