West Bank settler officially invited to Obama inaugural
Ariel Lang, a 22-year-old settler in the West Bank, has been officially invited to attend Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington on January 20.
Lang, who immigrated from Chicago to Israel as a child and thinks that US President George W. Bush “wants to destroy Israel,” voted by absentee ballot for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Lang lives in the Rimonim settlement, only a twenty minute drive to Jerusalem (twenty minutes if you’re Jewish). Lang’s settlement provides him and his two siblings a half-Olympic sized swimming pool, supermarket, post office, nursery, kindergarten, mikvah, library, and youth center.
The Jersualem Post article reporting this news says that “Lang, who has serious learning disabilities, served in an IDF tank unit and then in military intelligence.”
It actually says that.
Military intelligence isn’t very intelligent, eh?
Like they say: “a contradiction in terms.”
But it is nice to see the cultural exchange program is working swimmingly. They get Joe the Plumber and we get this guy. Perhaps he will exercise Israel’s right to self-defense and take out the threat to Israel’s existence that is George Bush. That would be nice.

Gee, it’s almost like he’s part of a program that gets him a random invite that a BAJILLION OTHER PEOPLE ALSO GET, and not some commentary on Obama.

maybe it’s people like him responsible for the astonishing number of “mistakes” the IDF makes when it accidentally kills a few dozen civilians again and again and again and…
Him and the fact that Hamas doesn’t in any way set aside any areas as civilians-only.
It would make more sense to invite a West Bank resident, as oppose to some settler living there illegally.
Aha! No wonder the Israeli gov’t are so screwed up! They recruit people with serious learning disabilities to serve in the IDF! That explains why they have no clue about what they are doing except to shoot at human beings! Go Figure!
