I Can’t Believe It’s Not Buttars
Anti-gay Utah State Sen. Chris Buttars went on a blame the gay tour in a new documentary about Proposition 8 according to one local reporter who has seen the footage. Senator Buttars not only stuck it to the gays (no pun intended) but also he made sure to equate the gays with the Muslims–for whom he had kinder words.

Sen. Chris Buttars: “Homosexuality will always be a sexual perversion. And you say that around here now and everybody goes nuts. But I don’t care.”
…”[Gays]’re mean. They want to talk about being nice. They’re the meanest buggers I have ever seen.”
And just seconds later, Buttars draws a comparison between some gays and radical Muslims.
“It’s just like the Muslims. Muslims are good people and their religion is anti-war. But it’s been taken over by the radical side.”
…He also talks about gay marriage being the beginning of the end.
Buttars: “What is the morals of a gay person? You can’t answer that because anything goes.”
And finally, this is how senator Buttars refers to the “radical gay movement.”
“They’re probably the greatest threat to America going down I know of.”
Calls for his resignations have been pouring in. No stranger to controversy, Buttars issued an apology, but offered no plans to resign. Recently Buttars has been also in hot water with the NAACP over “black baby” remarks. The statements from the State Senator were embarrassing even to the LDS Church of which Buttars is a Member. The LDS Church actually distanced themselves from his remarks. In the Press release
“From the outset, the Church’s position has always been to engage in civil and respectful dialogue on this issue. Senator Buttars does not speak for the Church.”
Buttars: “What is the morals of a gay person? You can’t answer that because anything goes.”Buttars apparently equates his own morality with what he puts in his pants. How mature.

Beast me why people get so fussed about what consenting adults do in private. I don't reckon he should resign though. The outspokenness you get in the states is healthier than the politically correct pretence in the UK where every minority must be free from any criticism even when it's completely justified. Unless issues are discussed with some degree of honesty you will never get any sensible policies.PS Butters in South Park is brill.
