Obama Picked Wrong Bosworth for North Korea Envoy

The one right stance of the Bush administration was that it played tough with North Korea, one of the craziest and looniest countries in the world, behind Saudi of course. Like everything else the Bush administration did, they failed in that, too. North Korea easily played the six-party talks, giving Cheney extra discomfort, possibly in the form of heart palpitations.

Thump, thump.

The Obama camp is seemingly following in the soft footsteps of Wimp Jr. They named as the new US envoy on North Korea, Stephen Bosworth.

Admittedly, I know very little of the man, and even less about Obama’s foreign policy towards NK. But, it is quite clear from the picture above that we need someone much tougher in the envoy position.

If Cheney were running the show, he’d being in a real Bosworth: the Boz. Besides being tough, he is considered a screen god in North Korea. He could therefore be a boost to American soft power efforts — if they decide to go that weakling route.

  1. "Like everything else Bush did, they failed in that, too." The Bush Administration did NOT fail to take the steps necessary to prevent attacks on America after 911. And it wasn't because the terrorists weren't trying: foiled attacks

  5. you obviously know very little about north korea if you think bush played it right!!!! they fostered confrontation, and made relations between the North and South much harder than they should have (rather than promoting integration between the two koreas). Further, North Korea begged bush to officially end the korean war and promote stability by reducing troops on the border and declaring that the USA did not intend to attack the north, but flatly refused all these issues. Instead, he provoked more confrontation and instability. This is just the tip of the ice berg where Korean relations are concerned! So get some damn sense if you think bush did a good job on Korea. read the paper one, why dont you? or, at the very least, shut up about things you have no idea about…

  6. From the BBC article you linked Eagle007blogger in regards to foiled terrorist attacks. "But the sketchy details provided by the White House make it hard to assess how serious or advanced the plans were." Furthermore, the person making the claim is George Bush himself. I have no doubt that there are crazies that want to ruin America's shit. However, I highly highly super highly doubt that there is a terrorist group capable of pulling off a bio, chemical, or nuclear attack on the United States any time soon. The people we are bombing are armed with world war 2 era weaponry…. they run around with AK's and RPG's firing into the sky in the vain hope of hitting a bomber plane 1 mile in the sky with only sandals for footwear. …(slightly exaggerated but you get the point)

  7. Furthermore, the person making the claim is George Bush himself. So are you going to make that big jump and deny the claim? Is that Somali man in Colombus, Ohio – sentenced to 10 years in prison for helping with a plan to blow up a shopping mall in Columbus, Ohio – is he really innocent? Did Bush just frame Mohammad Zaki Amawi, 26, Marwan Othman El-Hindi, 42, and Wassim I. Mazloum, 24? Why did stupid old George Bush make the U.S. Treasury Department freeze the assets of a charity called KindHearts in Toledo Ohio? Why did Bush's stupid Federal authorities announce they had broken up a suspected Muslim terrorist cell planning a "chilling" attack to destroy John F. Kennedy International Airport, kill thousands of people and trigger an economic catastrophe by blowing up a jet fuel artery that runs through populous residential neighborhoods? Why did George Bush make Fawzi Assi, a former Ford engineer, plead guilty to providing support for a designated Mideast terrorist group and go to prison for 10 years How did Bush send seven members of a terror cell run by al-Qaeda "general" Dhiren Barot to jail for a total of 136 years? How did Bush catch 6 foreign-born "Islamic militants" plotting to attack Fort Dix army base in the US state of New Jersey? How did Bush catch Abdullah al-Mujahir, Jose Padilla? How did George Bush help catch terrorists in so many other countries too, like the 16 people arrested in Sydney and Melbourne or the14 South Asian Islamist extremists arrested in Barcelona or the 3 suspected Islamic militants were arrested for allegedly plotting "imminent" and "massive" attacks on a major U.S. Air Force base in Germany and Frankfurt International Airport. Shall I go on? What was your point?

  8. I don't think you even bothered to read my entire reply. From the BBC article that was mentioned in the source you used to come up with your claims. ” target=”_blank”>http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4319714.stm In regards to 10 of the foiled plots that Bush claimed in one of his speeches the BBC had this to say: "the sketchy details provided by the White House make it hard to assess how serious or advanced the plans were." This is on top of the fact that Bush and his friends lied to the American people for 8 years straight. Bush and his administration are not credible and honest sources for information. Looking at some of the examples you cited above, its clear to see that many of them were not real threats to American security. Almost all the convictions were based on conspiracy which was derived from hearsay, or not directly related to a terrorist plot against the United States whatsoever. For example you cited the case of Fawzi Assi. This man was convicted of giving money to the U.S Listed Terrorist Group Hezbollah. According to the United States and Israel, Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. HOWEVER, Hezbollah was not planning any attacks on the United States or American citizens abroad, nor was the man Fawzi Assi planning a terrorist attack. Rather, he was arrested for giving money to a group that it is illegal to give money to. He was punished for that, end of story. Bush has only made the world more dangerous for America, there is no denying that.
