The album is due this May. After this song, and his collaboration with Shadia Mansour, Hamdulilah (Gaza Remix), you can be sure the next album will be a special one.
The video is an exceptional and artistic tribute to political Arab North Americans after September 11. It touches on “Flying While Arab,” Uncle Tom Arabs working for the Man, Israel (one of the security officials had an Israeli accent and asked about the Palestinian), Guantanamo Bay, and the oil obsession behind America’s love of the region (the petrosexual magazine). It even called out the kuffiyah fad. The svelte body of young white dude wearing a shirt saying “Same Shit, Different Hipster” came across the screen.
