The Obama Administration’s rhetoric against Iran differs from the Bush’s in one main aspect: While Bush was blunt and arrogant, Obama and Co. are either naïve or purposefully and conveniently ignoring four decades of relevant history.
Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, CIA Head Leon Panetta, and Secretary of Defense Bob Gates have all stated their concerns that Iran’s alleged quest for a nuclear bomb could trigger an arms race in the Middle East.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told senators Wednesday that if Iran obtains a nuclear weapons capability, it would trigger an arms race in the Middle East and beyond. She said the Obama administration is pursuing a diplomatic track on the issue with Iran but within a specific time-frame.
Arm’s race? Are you freaking kidding me? I thought that started already when Israel got the bomb. Isn’t that why Iran is getting it, if it actually is?
But it appears when Clinton, or the Secretary of Defense in this week’s ME tour, did not encounter much history or a cause-and-effect analysis as they read the Israeli-made talking point memos. Something reminiscent of the way western media, along with western politicians, seemed to always know the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict dating back to the last suicide bombing or Hamas-fired rocket.
A little education in causality my be due… But then again, that may open Pandora’s Box of crimes to take responsibility for…

OMG! Will someone alert Hilary that she had a wardrobe malfunction?!?!?!?
Posted by s.d. | July 30, 2009, 5:08 amIt's more like a body part malfunction…
Posted by Ali | July 30, 2009, 12:31 pmNo, the right one is just leaning towards Israel more favorably… The US always had lopsided approach to the Middle East.
Posted by STH | July 30, 2009, 1:11 pmThat or an interesting choice of wardrobe for a Secretary of State. . . .
Posted by s.d. | July 30, 2009, 5:10 amPlease tell me that is photo-shopped.
Posted by kinzi | July 30, 2009, 2:06 pmIran has vowed to 'push the Zionist entity into the sea". Israel has sought peace. Self defense is NOT aggression! The Arab states & Iran have never recognized Israel since 1948, maintaining a state of war [the only recognition of Israel] with Israel. Israel is COMPELLED to defend itself by whatever means necessary.
Posted by cynic8 | July 30, 2009, 6:55 pmI see the Hildebeast is going for the "cougar" look:
Cougar (see also hunt, prowl, corner, pounce). Noun. A 35+ year old female who is on the "hunt" for a much younger, energetic, willing-to-do-anything male. The cougar can frequently be seen in a padded bra, cleavage exposed, propped up against a swanky bar in San Francisco (or other cities)waiting, watching, calculating; gearing up to sink her claws into an innocent young and strapping buck who happens to cross her path. "Man is cougar's number one prey"

Those crazy botox eyes of her are terrifying. I could just see her pushing the button with that look on her face.
Posted by Sean2009 | July 31, 2009, 3:57 pmAhh, I see Kabobfest is reviving the good old chauvinist arab pigs stereotype – because as we all know, the only way an arab man can make a political point is to pull out a picture of a woman's breasts and snicker at it. Right, Fayyad?
Posted by leila | August 30, 2009, 1:34 pmAccording to 'Islamists' and other Muslims nations the baring of female flesh is illegal and subject to various SERIOUS penalties!
As to simply going back to the latest suicide attack, try going back to the massacres of the 1920's. Also the positions taken by the imam of Jerusalem and other Muslim governments in supporting Nazis.
Then there is the Q'ran calling in some sura for death to Jews and ALL infidels [non Muslims].
Posted by cynic8 | August 30, 2009, 5:11 pmCynic, can you show me the verse in the Qur'an calling for the deaths of all Jews? Please find it for me cuz I've yet to find it.
However, I did find this verse about the Jews:
2:62 Those who believe, as well as those who follow the Jewish faith, and the Christians, and the Sabians and anyone else who believes in God and the Last Day and does righteous deeds – shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve
Also, I've been to quite a few "Muslim" majority nations and most of them did not have laws against women "baring" flesh. I highly suggest you visit a few Muslim majority countries and see for yourself.

Instead of taking Cynic's word for it or attempting to do the research on your own, I suggest you read the HAMAS Charter and see what Islamic references they use to justify genocide against the Jews? Why reinvent the wheel, right?
Posted by programmer craig | August 30, 2009, 11:57 pm*yawn* they don't cite the Qur'an to make the anti-semetic remarks you are referring to PC.
It looks like your the one that needs to do some research instead of relying on the same old Propaganda. So again I ask you both to find me these "alleged" verses in the Qur'an that call for the destruction of the Jews.
Oh and btw, Hamas removed its clause calling for the destruction of Israel when they created their government manifesto, the very document they abide by today.

Posted by Arayus | August 31, 2009, 12:02 amreposting here, missed the thread!
You are the one who is yawn worthy…. claiming HAMAS no longer abides by it's charter? lol.
And I take it all the worming around you are doing is a tacit admission that you DO understand that HAMAS is making Islamic arguments based on the Quran and on Fatwas in it's charter? Do you figure if you are anal enough about the way you parse the words, that you can successfully change the meaning? Or are you just trying to obfuscate the issue?
PS-And also the direct quotations from hadiths in the HAMAS charter may be worth a look-see, eh?
Posted by programmer craig | August 31, 2009, 6:15 pmI can barely understand what your trying to say here.
Also the hadith quoted in the original Hamas charter (the one not in use anymore) was cited from what are considered to be "weak isnad." Meaning that any serious Islamic scholar wouldn't accept them as being authentic.
Again, I'm waiting for both of you to show me one verse in the Qur'an that straight up calls for the destruction of the Jews.
I'll even give you a study aid!

I will quote my English translation of the Qu'ran in a few days. I'm looking at my citations.
Posted by cynic8 | August 31, 2009, 5:42 pmDont waste your time Cynic8 you've never read the Qur'an and don't pretend otherwise.
But because I'm so nice I'll link ya to an online one with a search feature so you can find those verses in the Qur'an that call for the destruction of the Jewish people.

Go right ahead.
