A tight track by Lowkey, an Iraqi-British MC, featuring Mai Khalil.
Like other dumb Americans, I love British accents. I was joking the other day that the accent was why they were able to take over 80% of the earth at the height of their empire. Native peoples everywhere were just too charmed to resist. That goes for subversive rappers too.
His video with Faith SFX, Alphabet Assassin is also sick put absent of meaning (other than the obvious alphabetical structure). Check it out. Even though I took the line about an ‘angry academic activist’ personally.

Posted by eagle007blogger | October 4, 2009, 8:39 pmSCREW YOU SAND NIGGERS!
We liberated you camel jockeys from Saddam! Have you any thanks? Yet now you have the audacity to claim that Saddam wasen't as bad as what we Americans with the blood of our soldiers put in place?
We should just wipe all you guys off the map!
Posted by the anti-jihad | October 4, 2009, 9:27 pmSome Americans seem never to be able to gain perspective.
Most people who read this site are Arab or Arab American. Most Arabs and Arab Americans did not know of Saddam's atrocities, and many of them still think he was a cool cat. The Iraqi Shia and Kurds and the few Iraqi Sunni Arabs and Christians who hated Saddam (less than 10% of the Arabs) were the only ones liberated in 2003, and most of them still have difficult lives.
Also try to look at this from an Iraqi perspective: you really expect Iraqis, after the 1991 invasion and betrayal of the Shia, after 12 years of sanctions, after more bombing and incompetence in 2003-2007, you expect Iraqis to thank the US for all they've done?
I'm glad Saddam is gone, but I don't feel that I owe America thanks for all they've done, given the history and injustice. The US made many mistakes in Iraq in the last half century. When you say "we should just wipe all you guys off the map!" makes you look like an idiot.
Posted by Iraqi Mojo | October 6, 2009, 5:43 pmI should add that the Iraqi Sunni Arabs who hated Saddam were not few.

Posted by Nadia | October 6, 2009, 10:01 amSad that many of those deaths were caused by our Arab "brothers" from Morocco to Salt to Riyadh.
Posted by Iraqi Mojo | October 7, 2009, 9:13 pmPrecisely, all regimes that are backed, funded, and rely on the United States to stay in power.
Posted by Arayus | October 7, 2009, 9:15 pmSome of those governments seem to be making a genuine effort to reduce the stupidity and violence against Iraqis. I read about a group of Iraq-bound 'mujahideen' in Morocco that was arrested recently. Thank you Morocco!
More than 1,100 suicide bombers have blown themselves up in Iraq since 2003. Approximately half of those suicide bombers came from KSA, America's biggest ally in the Gulf. The vast majority of victims of the suicide bombings have been Iraqi. Compare this to the number of suicide bombers who blew themselves up in Israel: about 100.
Also, many of the suicide idiots seemed to be normal, like the schmuck from al Salt, Jordan. He grew up 15 miles from occupied Palestinian all his worthless life, moved to LA for a while, and in the end he mass murders Iraqis. The deranged sons of Salt celebrated their hero. Way to go ya wa6ani! Google "deranged sons of salt" if you want to learn more about that particular murderer of Iraqis and the Jordanians who celebrated his life.

I used to love the theatrical British accents I heard in movies and television shows, but as soon as I met some actual Brits and heard how they really sound that went bye-bye. Most of em sound like they have their mouths full of mashed potatoes and trying to eat and talk at the same time. And I can't understand a word they say. It's even worse than talking to somebody who knows English as a second language but doesn't speak it well, because it would be kinda rude to ask them to keep repeating themselves or talk slower, right? They speak the Queen's English? Which English Queen talked like a lowdown liverpool crack whore? Hmmm?
