It used to be that nothing made an infidel feel like a…well… an infidel like hearing the shout “Allahu Akbar.”
Muslims, along with the much-appreciated help of western mass media and Israeli security consultants, have made it so that the shout, or the mere recitation of the phrase “God is Great” would send trimmers of fear into the heart of non-believers, making them think the cabby complaining of the minuscule tip is about to crash the yellow vehicle into the wall or the passenger next to them complaining of tarmac delays is planning to blow their plane out of the sky.
Uttering “Allahu Akbar” when you are standing in line at an Israeli checkpoint can still get you shot down, and the Brooklyn-born Israeli soldier who emptied 28 bullets in your chest would have a plausible self-defense argument. After all we don’t know whether that “Allahu Akbar” was to be followed by a knife, a suicide belt, or even a fiery stare.
The evidence and accepted wisdom on the dangers of “Allahu Akbar” are so strong and overwhelming that when EgyptAir 990 carrying 30 plus top Egyptian Army Generals was shot down off of Long Island, the FBI and NTSB concluded the crash was a deliberate act by the pilot because he was heard saying “Allahu Akbar” on black box recordings. Not that the phrase is something you would say when you are battling out of control craft controls with 217 lives on board, or something you would utter in fright when you see the ocean coming at you at 700 miles an hour.
That’s then. Now Muslims want us to feel warm and fuzzy, and even sympathetic towards them when we hear them shouting the death cry. Even CNN has fallen into the trap and been re-programmed to think “Allah es muy grande” is somehow a good thing. I guess it is now the method by which, along with Twitter, democracy will come to those Iranians protesting on rooftops, America’s new best brown friends, or green? Watch the characteristically shallow CNN news video to see the travesty for yourself.
(Side note: Leave it to the fashion crazed Persians to take the time out during a revolution to match the right colors… Imagine orange or purple on brown… gorrrose)
Now would the freakin’ Muslims freakin’ make up their freakin’ mind? I speak Islamic and I still don’t get… I admit it, I’m confused too. Ask any psychologist, you cannot use the same object to create positive and negative reinforcement at the same time… What kind of Pavlovian response would that trigger? Dry saliva?
So I decided to look into it, apparently “Allahu Akbar” has so many meanings that it all depends on context. (I personally think it’s another trick by Islamic speakers, like that one trying to convince us that “Madrasa” actually means school, and should not sound so scary, or the one about how “Jihad” does not exclusively mean ‘killing infidels’). I found a few of the many meanings the phrase could translate into just doing a quick search, add your own if you have been conducting any investigation into the matter:
God Is Great
God Is Greater
God is Bigger
Wow that’s a lot of snow
Wow that’s a lot of camels
Freakin’ Awesome
Would you fuckin’ stop that?
Damn, that’s one fine booty
God will punish you for this deed

Update: Thanks to the tip by disgruntled reader below, Israeli dogs are now trained to pounce on those who pronounce that phrase. Does that make “Allahu Akbar” also mean dognip?

If bigotry is crime in America, the author of this post would be doing hard time right now.
I also think the caption in the poster above said it all. The author could not hide his deep rooted hatred to every thing Arab or Muslim.
Just for the record, the israeli police is now training police dog to attack any one who uttered the word ,“Allahu Akbar” . War shippers included. Nice job defending the wicked witch of the Middle East[israel] .
This piece belongs in the trash can with the lid put on it. What a waste of time and talent!

Posted by MohammadKF | February 15, 2010, 11:48 amLove this. There is also the case of the Tunisian pilot who was accused by Italian courts of being suicidal and not following flight procedures because he kept repeating sayings of that sort.
Posted by Houwari | February 12, 2010, 3:00 pmI'm not sure why the writer is saying that Egyptair 990 was shot down. The plane crashed, either due to mechanical failure or a deliberate act by a member of the crew.
Posted by zara | February 12, 2010, 7:21 pmMay be the writer is a conspiracy theorist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EgyptAir_Flight_990#…
Also there was a report by a Royal Jordanian captain who was flying a minute or two ahead of EA 990 thas he saw a surface to air missile streaking near him.
Posted by Fayyad | February 12, 2010, 9:20 pmWell, I certainly wouldn't put it past the US military to do something like that and then cover it up.
Posted by zara | February 13, 2010, 5:47 amThe U.S. military are notorious for their love of secretly killing civilians. Did you know that most of the people on the Missing Persons list were actually killed by the military?
Posted by Admiral_Akbar | February 13, 2010, 6:44 amthe mere recitation of the phrase “God is Great” would send trimmers of fear into the heart of non-believers
Nah, doesn't really send fear through many peoples hearts. Just makes people aware of the crazies out there.
Just because suicide bombers yell it as they go up in flames, or Muslims yell it as they detonate bombs and shoot at civilians, or the 911 hijackers yelled it as they crashed into the twin towers doesn't mean that Israeli soldiers should get jittery if anyone decides to yell it at a check point (even though its usually followed by a blast. Come on. Man up, Israelis. Allahu Akbar
EgyptAir 990 carrying 30 plus top Egyptian Army Generals was shot down
Shot down??? HAHAHAHAHA! The exact cause of the crash is disputed. Egyptian investigators concluded that the aircraft crashed as a result of mechanical failure, while U.S. investigators concluded the aircraft was deliberately crashed in an apparent suicide.
What was so shallow about the CNN report, besides the guy's goofy haircut?
In America they are also training dogs to attack anyone who says, "you wanna buy some crack?"
Posted by Admiral_Akbar | February 13, 2010, 6:24 amWe say allahu akbar when something good happens. when we were kids and performed songs and did a good job, the audience always said takbeer , allahu akbar!
