The killing of unarmed civilians is commonly referred to as murder, and the Israeli Occupation Forces have gotten so used to doing it with impunity that they now longer bother disputing the charges-only the method of killing.
As demonstrations broke out across the West Bank in the last ten days or so in response to continuous Israeli colonization and more restrictions on Palestinian movement, dozens have been arrested (including pre-teen children), kidnapped by undercover thugs, or wounded by live ammunition. Yesterday, the first two fatalities occurred when Zionist troops shot dead Mohammad Qadus, 20, and Usaid Qadus, 16, both from the village of Iraq Burin near Nablus.
The murders occurred as Israeli soldiers invaded the village, whose residents were resisting the weekly attacks by settlers from the illegal colonies surrounding Iraq Burin. The occupation army didn’t bother pretending it hadn’t killed the two young men, but contended the type of ammunition used. Rather than apologizing for ending two innocent lives (which in the context of occupation and dispossession wouldn’t mean much anyway), the Israeli military claimed that it had only used rubber-coated steal bullets against the people of Iraq Burn, and not live fire. The x-ray above is of Useid Qadus’ skull, showing the live bullet lodged in his head. As Israeli human rights activist Jonathan Pollack told Maan News:
The wounds on Mohammad’s body included an entry wound and exit wound-further disputing the argument that the Israeli army was only using crowd control measures and not shooting to kill.
“Rubber-coated steel bullets will not enter and exit the body in that way. It’s very clear these injuries would not have been caused by any kind of crowd-control measure,” said B’Tselem spokeswoman Sarit Michaeli.
Of course, what type of ammunition occupation forces use to kill natives protesting the theft of their land and subjugation of their rights is not important, and making such a distinction is insulting. But what gets me is the audacity of Zionism, where the murder of innocents is so inconsequential only the method of murder is discussed. It’s a self-propagating cycle of impunity for the killers, and they are at it again; two more unarmed Palestinians-Mohammad and Salah Qawaqre, both 19 years old, were shot dead today in Owarta, another village near Nablus.

I was hit with a rubber-coated steel bullet in 2003 while protesting in Jenin. Believe me, the hole is just as big, the wound is just as painful, and the recovery is just as long as being hit with a bullet. I was lucky and only got hit in the fleshy part of my leg. The Palestinians are simply killed with rubber-coated steel bullets, as the Israeli thuggish soldiers aim at their heads
Posted by Greta Berlin | March 21, 2010, 4:10 pmSomething is very strange about this picture.
A high velocity bullet would create a very different type of injury (see below).
If this picture is real, it means that the victim was hit when the velocity of the bullet was very low, meaning he was very far from the shooter. This looks like a shoot in the air gone bad. Basically, a freak accident.

Summary The effect of firearm calibre and bullet velocity on head wounds were studied in anaesthetized dogs. Autopsy, radiological and microscopic studies were undertaken. It was found that the injuries inflicted by 7.62 mm ammunition with an impact velocity of 714–798 m/sec were generally less severe than those inflicted by 5.56 mm ammunition with an impact velocity of 810 to approx. 1000 m/sec.
Effects of low velocity were observed when the 7.62 mm ammunition was used. Typical high velocity effects were noted with the 5.56 mm ammunition. The entrance wound generally corresponded to the size and shape of the projectile. The size of the exit wound was directly proportional to the projectile's impact velocity. Indirect (shock wave) damage to the cranium, brain and, in one case, the atlas was noted.
The effects of intra- and extra-cranial projectile fragments were studied together with severe pressure effects in 4 cases.
Model experiments were performed to study the pressure effects of the projectiles used. The maximum pressures measured were approximately proportional to the square of projectile velocities.

Even the IDF isn't claiming it was an "accident," but thanks for another demonstration of the freakshow that is Zionist apologetics. Perhaps your expertise in ballistics can explain how the other guy was shot to death with the bullet leaving an exit wound, an unlikely result from a rubber bullet. Or how two more Palestinians were later shot dead in another village.
Posted by Sean2009 | March 22, 2010, 4:57 amjjjj, if you're real, i'm glad you're a ballistics expert who knows precisely how to read x-rays, I wonder whether it's your background in googling or a medical degree that qualifies you to spew such fuckin absolute bullshit. or maybe you're just a freak accident.
Posted by Guest | March 21, 2010, 9:51 pmfreak accident or not, killing innocent palestinians is not acceptable!
Posted by Alaa | March 22, 2010, 12:54 amI really don't see any way that could be a rubber coated bullet…I'm no ballistics expert, but I don't think a rubber bullet could've penetrated the skull. If however it actually did, it wouldn't have stayed intact like that, and you would have fragments of the skull lodged inside of the brain as well as the outer edge of the skull (as shown in the xray) torn to pieces. Most likely this was a standard 5.56mm or 7.62mm Full Metal Jacket rifle round hitting at a roughly 90 degree angle to the bone, piercing it, and coming to a stop in the soft tissue of the brain. Any other type and there would be fragmentation of the bullet (and he would've died a LOT quicker instead of lingering for a few hours)
It's a terrible shame not only because of the loss of life, but especially because it appears that the two teenagers killed were brothers or cousins. My deepest condolences to the family

A rubbercoated bullet can enter the skull easily. They are regular bullets with a thin coat of rubber on them. They are not rubber bullets meant to sting. And they move at very high velocities. They do enter most easily through soft tissue parts, such as eyes.
On a separate note:
If there are any ironic Gaza militant groups, their next round of rockets should be covered in a rubber coating so the group can claim to have taken humanitarian measures and that any deaths and injuries would be "accidental."

Posted by MohammadKF | March 25, 2010, 2:06 pmThe term riot control "ammo" or non-lethal… is just a term. The fact is that these types of ammo are lethal. Lethal when usede incorrectly. meaning too close or wrong type mixed in a wrong situation. the problem is that the "boots" on the ground dont often either recieve the training to use it COMPLETELY in accordance with its intended use OR they dont have the time, means, and/or ability to switch the ammo or use it correctly in a highly volatile situation. Bottom line riot control ammo/agents (less-than leathal ammunition) is still very lethal…
