Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last 24 hours, you’ve heard of the “Palestine Papers” — a leak of 1,600 confidential documents implicating Palestine’s leadership in what can only be understood as a voluntary surrender of the Palestinian people’s national struggle and the transfer of their homeland to Israel. In the words of Saeb Erekat, Chief Negotiator of the PLO, the only thing he and the rest of his accomplices have not done is formally “convert to Zionism.”

Al Jazeera, which is publishing the leaked documents, is providing round-the-clock news and analysis — damning Fateh, the Palestinian Authority and the PLO with every new release. Among them is a report that in mid-2008 Mahmoud Abbas was forced to copy a map of a proposed land swap onto a napkin after Ehud Olmert refused to let him keep the original document to show his negotiations team. The copy has since been referred to as “the napkin map.”

Al Jazeera reports:

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, described the Olmert-Abbas meeting in an interview with Al Jazeera earlier this year.

“He went with the President Peres and me and… actually sat outside discussing all issues. And then the president came out of that meeting 20 or 30 minutes, and we sat with the two presidents. And the offer wasn’t made at one meeting. This was three or four meetings actually, one showed him a map, Abu Mazen had given him a map, he showed him a map and Abu Mazen had to draw with his own hands.”

Al Jazeera, however, was not able to obtain a copy of the original “napkin map.” Fortunately, Chaim Sugarman — KABOBfest’s Chief Investigative Reporter — has. It is published, for the first time and in its entirety, below.

Though it is yet to be confirmed, it is believed that the yellow and green stains on the napkin are the result of Saeb Erekat’s mana’eesh stained fingers.

***UPDATE: Yasser Abed Rabbo, a member of the PLO Executive Committee, has issued a statement repudiating earlier claims that the yellow and green stains on the “napkin map” were caused by Saeb Erekat’s mana’eesh stained fingers. At a press conference earlier today, Rabbo stated: “Tests show that these stains were rubbed on the map afterwards to make it seem like our negotiating team is sloppy and incompetent. They were surely done on purpose. It leads me to question KABOBfest’s motives.”
