Flash Mob Dance for Palestine in NYC

UPDATE – Adalah-NY says the video was removed due to copyright claims.

As part of the Global BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) Day of Action commemorating Land Day, Adalah-NY: the New York Campaign for the Boycott of Israel surprised commuters in New York’s Grand Central Station with a song and dance. They performed to the tune of “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, but with a little twist to remind people to boycott Israel.

What people should realize is that boycotting Israel is the best strategy for peace. American mediation has only boosted the power inequity and solidified the position of the more powerful party, which makes a peace deal less likely. A global movement to pressure the more powerful party — as with South African Apartheid — is really the only hope for any kind of peaceful settlement.

Check out this and this post on the historical significance of Land Day, or Youm Al-Ard, which is March 30 of each year.

  3. OK, Catauro. I guess the Palestinian people should stop calling for boycott of Israel, and start calling for the Cuban army to fly in. Is that your point?
