ADC: Arab American Professionals’ Gateway to DC

When my college advisor told me about the Washington Seminar, I was so excited just thinking about having an internship in Washington DC, where the political sausage is made. Little did I know, my college campus had few internships that I qualified for. It wasn’t likely that I would be offered an internship at one of the many conservative think tanks in the DC area. Besides, what a member of Congress would do with a Palestinian student is beyond me!

The Gazan Dark Ages

It took me some time, but I have finally figured it out: I will take them to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. Think about it… everyone at the show is bearded and scary-looking, and look like they might really hurt you. There is little food, everyone is armed, and there’s no power, just candles. There is no fuel and no cars, so people use horses. Plus they don’t bathe as often. And yes, wars and disease surround you. Perhaps being part of this show will allow them to see some of the good things about Gaza. Or maybe they’ll just feel at home…

How Whole Foods Stole Ramadan

Whole Foods’ actions puts the crazies in the driver’s seat. Such a hateful bunch won’t live long. Their hatred will damage their mental and physical wellness and none of the fine Whole Foods’ goods will help extend their lives.

Egyptian Pop Music Takes on Israel

Mona Eltahawy, the white man’s favorite Egyptian talking head, famously claimed that the Egyptian revolution was not at all about Israel. Egyptian popular music shows where public opinion is now.

Gaza Today Dot Com

We have recently launched “GazaToday.com”, an unofficial visitors guide for Gaza, Palestine. Our aim is to provide useful up-to-date information about Gaza to locals and foreign visitors alike through an online directory that includes all types of information that visitors need when planning a visit to Gaza: Accommodation/hotels, restaurants, cultural centers, service providers, events, in addition to other information. The website also features maps, articles, and photo galleries that will help visitors form a better picture about the city.

Shakira Goes to Israel And Hugs a Murderer

Shakira seems to have answered her own question in her earlier song “Dónde Están los Ladrones” -Where Are the Thieves? She visited a place that was founded by ladrones.

A Gay (Straight) Girl (Man) in Damascus (Edinburgh)

Not only did the attention received by MacMasters fake blog rob Syrians of their own voice, it put them in danger in a very real way.

The ADC Challenge

There is a lot wrong with ADC, but there is a lot right. It is worth saving. I challenge everyone angry about the Malek Jandali affair to take ownership of ADC and fix it. Boycott is not the answer.

What Comes Next for Yemen?

If the opposition protest movement can get Hadi on board, and set up a transitional government, then there is a chance that they can neutralise counter-revolutionary forces.
